Quite a lot can be done, if anyone knows. Suffering in silence may seem an easy option, but it will not help the situation.
Somebody, parents, teacher, school governor, best friend, in fact anybody who can be trusted should be told.
No one needs to be alone through bullying, but it can only be stopped if someone does know.
Once the bullying is known about, if it is in school, the school has to be made aware of it, and pushed to take action. If they won't then follow the complaints procedure.
If the bullying is outside of school, the law says that even if in school uniform, and on the way to or from school, it is not the schools responsibility, so options like the Police, social services, area wardens, local authority, may be suitable for making the complaint to.
I am sure that people who have been involved will offer more advice.
