A few abbreviations which you may come across. Feel free to add more as you come across them.

SENCO Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. Every school must have one. Is resposible that any child with special needs receives the correct education, and support.

LEALocal Education Authority. Usually based in the local council. Is responsible for all state schools, colleges, and nurseries within its' area.
